I am a believer. I know that Jesus Christ came and sacrificed himself for me and reconciled me to to God. I know that only He could do it and that there is nothing in myself that could make myself right in any way. Jesus is my Lord and Savior and all that I am is His.
I have been a dad, a contractor, a teacher, a professor, a pastor, a salesman, a mechanic, …… I am a typical guy like you and have set out to share what I have learned and am still learning. This life is a journey, not a destination, and the joy in it is learning to journey with our Heavenly Father.
Far too many of us have grown up without a mentor or role model. It isn’t the fault of our fathers or even theirs. We teach what we have been taught and few of us have learned the lessons we need to learn to know how to be Men of Action, Men of God, Men that this world needs.
Our fathers had fathers who had no clue what they were doing. They taught us to be clueless. If you feel as though you are faking your way through all of this, trust that you are not alone. If you feel as though you are relying on your strength to get through this then I assure you, your strength will eventually fail. We weren’t made to do any of this on our own. We aren’t capable of figuring it all out in spite of our great intellect nor are we strong enough to hold it all together regardless of our strength. We have but one source of true strength, one source of wisdom, and but one model to follow, and it is not of this world but has come to this world to bring us to Himself.
What I seek to do through this endeavor is obey what He has called me to do: Work with men to see them step into their God given design. For us, that means resurrecting a renaissance in men. This renaissance, however, is not like the one of old where men sought to enlighten themselves and eclipse God. This new renaissance is one in which men seek to see His hand at work in our daily lives through developing a deeper understanding of the arts, science and technology, mechanics and craftsmanship, and our faith. As we enjoy these pursuits and deepen our understanding of His work in and around us, we will become more like Him and be His light shining bright in this world around us as we point the way to Him.
